Manganese is a mineral that the body requires in small dosages. It is known for its involvement in brain health, nervous system, and many enzyme systems in the body. • Cayenne (10 mg)

Cayenne, scientifically known as capsicum annuum, is a pepper known for its spice and its concentration of distinct nutrients. One possible reason why this pepper is often linked to weight loss has to do with its ability to heat up the body, thereby increasing calorie expenditure. A study conducted in 2003 with women found that consuming cayenne peppers led to a higher metabolic rate for 30 minutes after consumption. It may also help curb cravings and provide a longer lasting feeling of fullness. A study conducted in 2014 with 15 people concluded that those who consumed cayenne with every meal felt full for long and experienced little cravings with a suppressed appetite.

• Banaba (25 mg)

Banaba, scientifically known as lagerstroemia speciosa, is a tree originally found in tropical Southeast Asia, specifically in India, Malaysia, and the Philippines. It is known for being high in corosolic acid, a compound that may lower blood sugar. A study conducted with 31 people found that consuming a capsule of corosolic acid lowered blood sugar levels for one to two hours after consumption. Banaba is also known for its ability to supress fat cells and fat molecules, potentially providing anti-obesity properties. However, the aforesaid aspect is not widely proven with studies as of yet.

• Yarrow (25 mg)

Yarrow, scientifically known as achillea millefolium, is a plant that can be found in North America, Asia, and Europe. It is said to be involved and used medicinally for over 3000 years. Regarding its potential role in FlameLean, yarrow might serve as an effective ingredient to improve digestion. A rat-based study conducted demonstrated that consuming yarrow extract led to the protection against stomach acid.

The latter protection is critical seeing how our stomach acid needs to be highly acidic for food to be broken down. Another animal study concluded that yarrow tea led to improved digestive spasms, inflammation and other unwanted digestive issues. Bear in mind that most studies reporting efficacy of yarrow have been conducted on animals alone, thus more studies still need to be replicated with humans to see whether they too experience similar benefits.

• White Mulberry (25 mg)

White Mulberry, scientifically known as morus alba, is a tree native to China and India. All parts of the tree; leaves, bark, root, and fruit, have been used in traditional alternative medicine, with one of the uses being for blood sugar management. A study conducted with 24 people having type 2 diabetes concluded that consuming 1000 mg of mulberry leaf extract three times day for three months reduced blood sugar levels after eating . Another study with 12 seemingly healthy people concluded that after consuming mulberry extract for 12 weeks, blood sugar regulation improved.

• Bitter Melon (50 mg)

Bitter Melon, scientifically known as Momordica charantia, is a tropical vine that is a staple in Asian cuisine. It is known for having several important nutrients, such as vitamin C, zinc, and potassium. For as long as time could tell, Indigenous populations have relied on this vine for treating diabetes, by way of regulating blood sugar levels. A study conducted with 24 adults with diabetes for three months concluded that consuming 2000 mg of bitter melon everyday lead to lowered blood sugar levels.

The stated result stems from the fact that bitter melon might work by improving how the body’s tissues use sugar and increasing the secretion of insulin. It is also believed to be an effective way to improve weight loss results, as it is low in calories but very high in fiber. Why should anyone consider fiber intake? Fiber passes slowly through the digestive tract and thus helps individuals stay full for longer.

• Guggul (50 mg)

Guggul is a sticky substance extracted from many plants originating in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. It is known for its supposed ability to aid in weight loss by supressing appetite. A study conducted with rats found that consuming guggul had a positive impact on appetite-regulating hormones. Another study conducted with 58 obese people concluded that consuming guggul led to five pounds of weight loss compared to the placebo group. There aren’t a wide variety of studies that show significant results when it comes to the efficacy of guggul for weight loss, thus it should be taken with a grain of salt.

• Vanadium (0.2 mg)

Vanadium is a mineral found in foods and is widely researched for treating health issues such as cancer and diabetes. Many animal studies have concluded that vanadium can lead to lowered blood sugar levels and aid with insulin sensitivity in those with diabetes. However, there are very few human studies conducted with vanadium as the star, therefore it is hard to say with confidence that similar results can be achieved.
